Background

Founded in 2009, the Karunarathna Institute of Disasters and Safety Engineering (KIDSE) emerged from a vision to create a safer Sri Lanka through comprehensive safety education and disaster preparedness training.

Starting as a small training center in Colombo, KIDSE has grown to become Sri Lanka’s premier safety training institute, serving over 2,500 professionals and 150+ organizations across various industries.

Our founder, Dr. Karunarathna, recognized the critical need for standardized safety training in Sri Lanka’s rapidly developing industrial landscape. Today, KIDSE continues to lead innovation in safety education methodology and disaster risk management.
